Fight for Me

Claudia stood in a room filled with family and friends while the world caved in around her. Even though the room was loud and filled with noise, she could faintly hear their laughter and distinguish their words. The loudest voice in her head was her own reminding her of the burdens she carried and the problems she faced. Greater than this problem, nobody could sense her pain or anguish, so she felt as if she was fighting this battle all by herself. In the corners of her mind she whispered a silent prayer, "Lord please fight for me."

Have you ever felt like Claudia, wishing someone anybody would fight for you? Have ever felt like you were just too weak to fight this battle this time? Well if you have take comfort as God is standing in your corner fighting for you.

Exodus 14:14, says, "the LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm (NLT)." Staying calm, however, may be easier said than done when the mortgage is due and there's no money to pay it, when your loved one is sick and the doctors don't have a cure, when you're alone in your marriage and have nobody to talk to, or when your gift doesn't seem to make room for you. In these moments fear and anxiety kick in, but God is steadily there to remind us that He is fighting fear and anxiety for us.

God fights every physical, emotional, and mental battle and He doesn't need any extra help. In fact when we feel most alone, He's ever present because He promised to never leave us not forsake us. Today it is so essential that we remember to be still and allow God to fight for us because in the end He will win. Times may get tough and we may even be weakened, but be encouraged, simply say, "Lord fight for me," and He'll  be there to swoop you up in the time of need.
