Plan to Stay in His Presence

Margo was the lead architect on a city project to reconstruct a section of the downtown area. With precision she drew every line and detail to be added to the new layout of the city. Inn order to move forward with the project as expected, Margo needed the approval of all those involved. From building managers to city officials and even the vote of the residents was needed in order to move forward. More and more she realized that while it was her "plan"-she was just really apart of an even bigger plan.

There will come a time in where we each have an epiphany regarding life. This epiphany will highlight this critical point: when when we think we're in control, we're really not. Moreover we will realize much like Margo that we can do all the planning we want, but in the end someone has the final say so and when it comes to life that someone is God, Himself.

God is wonderful like that in that He gives us the freedom to create and even plan, but in the end He directs our paths. How blessed are we to have a God who cares about our plans especially when He knows the end of our plans. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that He knows the plans that He has for us which is to give us hope and an expected end. Just think about that, God wants to ensure that the plans we make line up with that hope and assured end result that we all want!

One of the greatest aspects of planning is simply to gain the approval of those who the project effects. In planning our lives, because we are God's workmanship, we need only seek the approval of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! When we include Him in the project, He's sure to approve the project as it will be orchestrated completely by Him.

Today remember that while man plans his paths, it is the Lord who ultimately directs its course. Plan to start in His presence.

Instructive - our plans ought to fit into the Grand Scheme of God!
