I Think I'll Let God Speak for Me

Terry couldn't wait for the school day to end. She wanted desperately to tell let Angela know how she felt about the rumors she was spreading. Terry didn't just want to confront her, as she was angry, but she really wanted to punch her and make her hurt as much as her lies and and slander had caused Terry to hurt.

Terry gathered all her friends because it was definitely going "down." All her friends cheered her on except one who tried to remind Terry that she didn't have to vindicate herself because the truth has a way of finding itself to the surface without causing unnecessary hurt, pain, or consequences. Terry wanted to listen but the crowd was ready for a fight, she stood there thinking, "I can't back down now, can I?"

Many of us find ourselves like Terry wanting to vindicate ourselves when the word of the Lord clearly reminds us in Isaiah 54:17-18 that no weapon formed against us will ever prosper and that every word spoken against us God will refute, as this is His promised vindication to those that belong to Him. In other words when people talk about us, speak against us, pray for our failure, wish for our demise, hope we'll never have, mistreat us, use us, and abuse us, God is sure to repay each and every one of them; they simply won't prosper.

Sure it may look and even appear as if they have the upper advantage, but they don't.  We who live and serve God have the strength of His word and assurance of His power behind us! Simply put, God's word cannot return to Him void. As such there is no need for us to take matters into our own hands like Terry did, but we need only be reminded that God will fight our battles and come to our rescue. We can also know that it's never too late to change course and yield to God's way as opposed to our own way.

Today let us remember that God remains our vindicator and He will never leave us to fight what only He can win: BELIEVE IT!
