I Won't Be Crushed

Angie was receiving hardship on every end. It seemed like God had completely forgotten about her. Her relationship was non-existent as the man she had loved for nearly four years said he wasn't in love with her anymore. She had been without a steady job for what seemed like an eternity. Her home was about to be foreclosed on and her health was failing. How much more could she take, she thought!

What Angie didn't realize was that she could actually take much more as God would never put more on any of us than we can bare. In fact Angie was clueless to the fact, like so many of us, that God wasn't punishing her but was actually preparing her for the promise.

She couldn't see it then but that broken heart was going to produce a bestseller; her meager income taught her to survive on little so that she would be able to spread the wealth and still have some left for a rainy day; her home was going on the market so she could walk into a bigger one and her health would improve when she learned to trust God for her healing.

2 Corinthians 4:8 reminds us that we are hard pressed on every side but not crushed, perplexed but not destroyed. In other words we may face great adversity and sometimes all at once, but fret not because God has not forgotten us; we will survive. Why? Because His strength resides within giving us the ability to become resilient in a broken situation. In fact when we trust Him, we come to know that He has set our course so that every negative event would actually work for our good. We often miss that part when we're going through because we're so consumed with what we don't have and what we don't see.

But often in life it is tragedy that brings about triumph because through our pain we write the songs, tell the story, overcome the hardships, win the championships, defeat the enemies, and muster up the strength to face another day. No, pain doesn't feel good but the glory it produces is always worth the story it creates.

Today remind yourself that you won't be crushed because God has too much in store for you and the pain is just the fuel you need to move you into your destiny!
